Durham, Crunchy on the Outside, Warm & Delicious on the Inside

Wine Authorities is proud to be a part of Durham, NC. We designed these t-shirts and T.S. Designs printed them on cotton grown in North Carolina. We sell them at Wine Authorities in three colors, sized from small to XXLarge. Of the towns in the Triangle, Durham has the most "controversial" reputation, but we love the town's grit and the food scene is second to none for a city this size!

Grove Winery Harvest and Grape Stomp

Wine Authorities chartered a bus and took 50 friends of the store to Grove Winery in Gibsonville, NC to harvest Sangiovese grapes and then foot stomp them to make a barrel of wine. After a day of hard work, drinking and dancing, the first ever..."Foot Lucy Red" is now fermenting quietly and will be released in the fall of 2010.

Wine Authorities Dry Rose Wine Garden

Wine Authorities builds our 2009 tribute to dry pink wine - the Dry Rose Wine Garden. All summer long we rotate pink wines from around the world into the garden. A portion of every pink wine we sell goes to support the NC Triangle Susan G. Komen for the Cure non-profit for breast cancer research and support.

(We Always Promised You a) Rose Garden

At Wine Authorities we practice Roseism - the drinking of dry pink wine. Our mission is to convert the unconverted. We want to teach wine lovers that pink wine is not necessarily sweet. Drink the pink. We donate a percentage of every rose bottle sold to the Triangle, NC Susan G. Komen foundation.

Steininger Non-Frozen Disgorge

Video from Seth's January 2009 trip to Austria. This shows the Steininger family disgorging their Sekt (Champagne-style) Grüner Veltliner with a little humor on the side.

Bull City Chili Challenge 2009 - Salamanzar is a guest judge

Seth, aka Salamanzar, was asked to be a guest judge at the May 30th 2009, Bull City Chili Challenge in Durham, NC. It took a lot of arm twisting, but Seth finally gave in. It's tough work, but someone has to help judge and pick a winner.

Pass the Wine Bong, err... the Porron Please.

The kick-off tasting for Txak-fest on Saturday, July 25th, 2009 featured four Basque wines from the Txakoli D.O.s and a lesson in how to use a porron. Just typical of the fun we have at our free weekly tastings, every Saturday from 12:00 - 3:00pm. Thanks to our good friends at Six Plates Wine Bar and De Maison Selections (André Tamers) for bringing this great event to Durham.

Wine Authorities, The Store by Jessica Fuller

UNC Journalism Graduate student, Jessica Fuller, used Wine Authorities for her class video project. Here work is outstanding and we think she deserves and A+ for the entire semester.

Chateau B@#%$&T

A sensational new wine available at Wine Authorities from the Costieres de Nimes region in Southern France. A mouthful of Syrah and Grenache with plenty of terroir on the finish. You won't believe the price after you taste it. But be careful how you pronounce this one. Watch and listen carefully.
