Guarda, Cabernet Franc, Mendoza, Argentina 2014100% Cabernet Franc CRUSHED CURRANTS, ELEGANT HERBS, CLASSICALLY CABBY The Pescarmona sisters are the third generation of their family to farm Lagarde, an estate established in 1897. While Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon are the money-makers in Argentina, the adventurous Pescarmonas are known for their wide array of planted varieties. Cabernet Franc is best known for the peppery green flavors it exudes in the Middle Loire, but this example leans more towards Bordeaux's St Emilion or old-school, cooler-climate Napa Cabernet Sauvignon with its medium body and gentle red fruit accented by savory herbs. Serving Suggestion: Peppery pork loin w/ thyme. Baked onions w/ sage, melted gruyere, & dill.
