2014 Bourgogne Rouge (Rossignol, Domaine Philippe)
Domaine Phillippe Rossignol, Bourgogne Rouge, Burgundy, France 2014100% Pinot Noir RED PLUM & BLACK CHERRY, BRIGHT & BALANCED The Cote d’Or’s northern half, the Cote de Nuits, has a lot of competition from its neighbors throughout the rest of Burgundy, but, with the exception of a few enclaves of the Cote de Beaune (it’s immediately southern counterpart), few regions would be nominated as the very best of the best for Pinot production. This offering from Philippe Rossignol, a producer whose home base lies in the illustrious Gevrey-Chambertin, features the impressive balance of structure and perfume that helps make some of its more loftily labeled counterparts as impressive as they are. Serving Suggestion: Wood-fired pizza w/ basil & shiitakes. Firsthand fqoods bratwurst w/ crispy fried collard greens & radish.
