Lambrusco Rosato (Lini Oreste & Figli)
LINI, Lambrusco Rosato "Labrusca Lini 910", Emilia Romagna, Italy (2009)Lambrusco Salamino, Ancellotta DRY, LIGHT BERRY, HINT OF TANNIN, EFFERVESCENT "Labrusca" is the Etruscan name for Lambrusco coming from the Latin labrum, meaning "edge." It is believed that Lambrusco grapes grew naturally along the edges of fields cultivated by the Etruscans food crops. Lini was established in 1910 and today is quite possibly the finest Lambrusco in all of Emilia Romagna. Fabio Lini and his daughter Alicia are responsible for this delicious dry, pink version of Lambrusco. Tart and thirst quenching with light tannin from the grape skins, this gentle pink wine has a firm backbone, perfect with picnic food. Serving Suggestion: Chilled lightly, this dry rosato is picnic wine for everything from chicken salad, tuna salad, humus and veggies, chips and dip. At the dinner table, try a prosciutto and fresh mozzarella cheese pizza.
