Quinta de Sant'Ana Pack (Wine Authorities)

Half an hour north of Lisbon lies the little town of Gradil (population: 771). Less than eight miles from the Atlantic, mornings here often start with a layer of cool ocean fog covering the vines before giving way to warm sunshine. The centerpiece of this hamlet is the historic Quinta de Sant’Ana. A piece of land so pretty it was once gifted by a King to his actress lover, it was eventually purchased by German noble Baron Gustav von Furstenberg.

In 1992, it was passed down to his daughter, Ann, and her English husband, James Frost, as a wedding present. But the Baron’s name lives on, as the Quinta’s top wine is named as an homage to him. Meanwhile, Ann and James have spent the last three decades rejuvenating the house and farm, developing an exciting range of wines...
