2013 Lacrima di Morro d'Alba "Rosae" (Casalfarneto)
Casalfarneto, Lacrima di Morro d'Alba, "Rosae", La Marche, Italy 2013ORANGE PEEL, CRANBERRY, BRIGHT AND CRISP Every little corner of Italy seems to have its own indigenous specialty. In the province of Ancona, it is Lacrima. A rare and ancient grape found nowhere else, Lacrima was almost extinct by the 1980s. Fortunately, various brave growers here on the Adriatic Coast didn't let that happen. Alluringly aromatic and blindingly bright, this crisp, unoaked, hand-harvested red shines in the glass and on the palate with bold, berryish fruit and gentle savory spice. Serving Suggestion: Take advantage of the freshness and versatility and pair with dishes that you might ordinarily pair with white wines. Roasted white fish covered in a classic Italian tomato sauce w/ capers & olives?
