This is classic, unfiltered, uncensored orange wine – the centuries-old style that eccentric winemakers on both sides of the Italian/Slovenian border have turned into a cult sensation. Often talked about but rarely seen, these are made from white grapes and treated to extended skin contact. This process is an integral part of red wine production, but white winemaking seldom involves skins once grapes are crushed. Two months of fermentation by wild yeast in both steel and oak accentuates exotic honeyed aromas and a rich, slightly tannic mouthfeel.
