Tangy-tart citrusy brightness, fresh red fruit, and elegant mineral conspire to make it both deceptively thirst-quenching and consummately captivating. This an eloquently effervescent elixir to down by the liter, and its relatively low alcohol content of 10.5% makes it a phenomenal patio buddy from mid-day to midnight.

In the tradition of such classics as “Son of Godzilla,” the “Hijo de (son of) Rubentis” is a Méthode Champenoise sequel truly worthy of Amestoi's cult classic Txakolina rosé. In typical fashion, the grapes are harvested slightly underripe to hammer home the signature gleam of acidity, minerality, Atlantic-ness, and leanness that Guetarian wines are famous for. The full-on sparkle (rather than typical spritz) enhances the impression of body and complexity while doing nothing to diminish the characteristic refreshment we love. Txakolin-dantza!

Serving Suggestion: Shangurro (Basque-style stuffed crab) w/ red pepper flakes, black pepper, & white wine. Spider rolls & other soft-shell crab preparations.

This seventh generation estate is considered one of the top producers of Txakoli (CHOCK-oh-lee), the spritzy, tart, low alcohol wine that is perfect with seafood tapas. Ignacio Ameztoi Aranguran is the current generation to continue making this traditional wine that most resembles the “lovechild” of Chablis and Vinho Verde. Don’t forget to pour it in your glass from up high, the frothy bubbles really bring out the character. As they say in San Sebastian "¡Txotx!"

Serving Suggestion: The greatest match for salty tapas and pintxos, especially croquetas, sardines, anchovies and olives. Also enjoyed straight from a Porron.
