2015 Pinot Gris "Fuchsloch" (Steindorfer)
Steindorfer, Pinot Gris "Fuchsloch", Burgenland, Austria 2015 100% Pinot Gris DRY, RICH, FULL-BODIED, PEAR, STONE FRUITS MINERALS Meeting Ernst Steindorfer is like meeting a childhood hero. But unlike a comic book character, Ernst is a real man and makes sensational wine. Standing in an immaculate cellar, one could literally eat (or taste wine) off the floor. This Pinot Gris has bright fresh notes and a touch of barrel aging to round the edges of this single vineyard bottling. Complex and Alsatian in style, this is a full-bodied white with stone fruit and a hint of vanilla spice. Serving Suggestion: Caramelized onion tart with crispy bacon bits; Moroccan chicken with savory almond cous-cous; most meaty fish dishes. |

2007 Trockenbeerenauslese "Grand Cuvee" [375ml] (Steindorfer)
Steindorfer, Trockenbeerenauslese (TBA) "Grand Cuvée, Burgenland, Austria 2007 [375ml bottle] 60% Chardonnay, 40% Pinot Gris LIQUID GOLD, ETHEREAL & SPECTACULAR With Trockenbeerenauslese, the grapes shrivel and dry on the vine, and are harvested at the latest possible moment. The tiny amount of juice that can be pressed out of these little golden raisins is ridiculously concentrated with soaring sugar levels. This elixir is then fermented into what can only be described as ecstasy in a bottle. Insanely complex flavors of honey, spice, and tropical fruit float over the tongue in moan-inducing waves. Don't drink this standing up; your knees will get weak. Serving Suggestion: Drink on it's own after a fabulous dinner, as a prelude and abettor to erotic dreams. |
