Is this what Cahors tasted like two hundred years ago? That is what Fabien Jouves presupposes with this wine while making a pun of a common French saying. Cabernet Franc is a grape used widely thoughout the appellations of Southwest France, but no longer in Cahors. At one time it was as important as Malbec here, but now it is "no longer welcome at the party" (in French: Tu vien plus aux soirees) in the eyes of the AOC. By changin vien to vin, the French word for wine, the pun is complete. Great wine here, as Fabien calls it a "vin de soif," a drinking wine to enjoy instead of contemplate.
